01 — Purpose
The Spirit of the Wall
The PrayScroll Prayer Wall exists for one reason: so that people can ask for prayer, and so that others can pray for them. It is not a social feed, a debate forum, or a place to promote anything.
By posting a prayer request, praying for others, or otherwise taking part in the community, you agree to these guidelines and to our Terms of Use. If you cannot keep to them, the Prayer Wall is not for you.
02 — Our Standard
Zero Tolerance
PrayScroll has zero tolerance for objectionable content and for abusive users. Content that breaks these guidelines will be removed, and users who post it may have their access permanently revoked without notice or refund.
This is not a policy we apply reluctantly. A prayer wall that tolerates cruelty, harassment, or filth is worse than no prayer wall at all. We would rather remove content quickly and imperfectly than leave harmful content standing.
03 — Rules
What Is Not Allowed
The following are prohibited anywhere in PrayScroll, including prayer requests, names, and locations:
- Hate speech. Content that attacks, demeans, or dehumanises anyone on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, or any other characteristic.
- Harassment, bullying, or threats. Targeting, intimidating, shaming, or threatening any person or group.
- Sexual or obscene content. Sexually explicit material, pornography, or lewd content of any kind.
- Violence. Content that promotes, glorifies, or incites violence or self-harm against anyone.
- Illegal content. Anything that promotes illegal activity, or exploits or endangers children in any way.
- Spam and promotion. Advertising, solicitation, fundraising, links, phone numbers, referral schemes, or repeated posting.
- Impersonation and deception. Pretending to be another person, or posting knowingly false requests to manipulate others.
- Doxxing. Posting anyone's private information — full names, addresses, phone numbers, workplaces, or other identifying details — including your own or those of the person you are praying for.
Prayer requests should be sincere, respectful, and focused on prayer. If a request would not be welcome spoken aloud in a church, it does not belong on the Wall.
04 — Filtering
How We Filter Content
Every prayer request submitted to the Prayer Wall passes through an automatic content filter before it is published. The filter screens for profanity, hate speech, sexual content, threats, spam, links, and contact details.
Content that trips the filter is rejected at the point of submission and never reaches the Wall. Filtering is imperfect, which is why the reporting and blocking tools below exist as a second line of defence.
In addition, any request that receives multiple reports from the community is hidden from the Wall automatically while we review it.
05 — Reporting
Reporting Content
If you see a prayer request that breaks these guidelines, report it. You do not need to justify it to anyone, and the person you report is never told who reported them.
- Tap the ⋯ (more) button on the prayer request on the Wall.
- Choose Report.
- The request is hidden from your feed immediately and sent to us for review.
You can also choose Report & Block User, which reports the content and additionally blocks the person who posted it (see below).
06 — Blocking
Blocking Users
You can block any user on the Prayer Wall. Blocking is immediate and requires no explanation.
- All of that user's content disappears from your feed instantly — existing requests and any future ones.
- The block is permanent until you choose otherwise, and persists across sessions and devices.
- The blocked user is not notified that you have blocked them.
- Blocking a user also notifies us, so we can review their content for wider removal.
You never have to see content from someone you have blocked. If a user is abusing the Wall, blocking protects you immediately while we investigate and act.
07 — Enforcement
How We Act on Reports
We act on reports of objectionable content within 24 hours. Offending content is removed, and the user who posted it is ejected from the community.
Depending on the severity of the violation, we may take any of the following actions:
- Remove the content from the Prayer Wall for all users.
- Ban the user permanently, preventing them from posting again.
- Report to authorities where content involves credible threats, child endangerment, or other illegal activity.
Enforcement is at our sole discretion. We do not owe a warning, an appeal, or a refund to anyone removed for posting objectionable content. Repeat or severe violations result in immediate permanent removal.
08 — Your Safety
Protecting Yourself
Prayer requests posted to the Wall are visible to other PrayScroll users. Please protect yourself and the people you pray for:
- Do not include full names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, or workplaces.
- Be careful about sharing sensitive medical, legal, or financial details.
- Remember that a first name and a city are optional — you can post entirely anonymously.
- If you want to pray about something deeply private, use the app's private prayer features instead of the public Wall.
You can delete your own prayer requests from the Wall at any time from within the app.
